Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about WARNRadar and WARN Act layoff monitoring.

What is the WARN Act?

The WARN Act (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act) requires employers with 100+ employees to provide 60 days' written notice of mass layoffs or plant closures. This helps workers and their families prepare for unemployment.

Is the data on WARNRadar complete?

WARNRadar aggregates notices from state labor departments, but not all workforce reductions are subject to WARN Act requirements. Additionally, some employers may file notices without the data being immediately available online. We recommend supplementing WARNRadar with other sources for complete information.

How frequently is the data updated?

We scrape state labor department sources daily to ensure data freshness. Most notices appear in WARNRadar within 24-48 hours of being filed.

Can I download or export the data?

Yes. WARNRadar data is available for research and analysis. Please contact us at partnerships@warnradar.com for bulk data requests and API access.

How do I use WARNRadar?

Browse filings by state and company, search for specific employers, and track layoff trends. Use filters to narrow by industry, number of affected employees, or date range.

Who is WARNRadar for?

WARNRadar serves employees seeking early warning of layoffs, researchers studying economic trends, policymakers designing interventions, job placement organizations, and employers benchmarking workforce disruption patterns.

Is this data about my company?

If your employer filed a WARN Act notice with a state labor department, it may appear on WARNRadar. This data is public and required to be disclosed by law.

How accurate is the company information?

We enrich WARN Act notices with company data from public sources. While we strive for accuracy, company information may sometimes be incomplete or require interpretation. For official company information, contact the company directly.

Can I remove or update my company's information?

The WARN Act notice itself is public information that must remain on record. However, if you believe company enrichment data (industry, size, etc.) is inaccurate, please contact us at feedback@warnradar.com.

How do I report an error?

Please email feedback@warnradar.com with details of the error, including the company name, state, and filing date. We review all reports and correct errors as needed.
